Among retail companies that are watching Amazon drive a steamroller over their businesses, there’s a growing sentiment that there’s no reason to continue bankrolling that operation. AWS provides nearly all of the operating profit for the larger retail corporation, helping fund its (for now) money-losing international expansion and giving it cover with Wall Street.

American Airlines, the world's most valuable airline brand, experienced a 7 percent decrease to .1 billion in brand value. Second-ranked Delta was down 6 percent to .7 billion and third-ranked United Airlines was down 2 percent to billion. Fifth-ranked Southwest fell the most, dropping 12 percent to .3 billion.

Among them, industrial enterprises issued .33 billion in bonds, up 30 percent year-on-year, while real estate companies saw a 24 percent year-on-year decline with a total value of .4 billion.

Amazon’s legal quest to overturn the decision to award the coveted JEDI cloud contract to rival Microsoft could be a long, drawn-out process. While the court battle plays out, Amazon wants to stop Microsoft from doing any significant work on the billion project to build out the U.S. Department of Defense’s cloud infrastructure.
